Wellbeing Suite at Maple Court
Maple Court at Magnolia House has unveiled a newly renovated wellbeing suite, designed to bring warmth, familiarity, and a sense of purpose to residents living with dementia.
The new space has been thoughtfully created to feel like a welcoming family kitchen—somewhere residents can engage in the everyday activities that have shaped their lives for decades. From washing up and wiping down surfaces to measuring ingredients, stirring mixtures, or preparing simple snacks, the suite encourages residents to take part in the reassuring routines that provide comfort and meaning.
Homely tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and tidying promote gentle physical movement and support cognitive function. More importantly, they help residents feel useful, independent, and connected to their identity. In a calm, supportive environment like the new kitchen suite, these familiar routines become meaningful moments rather than chores.
The kitchen will be used daily for small household activities that instill pride and encourage autonomy. Whether a resident chooses to fold tea towels, organise ingredients, polish dishes, or help prepare a meal, each action is an opportunity to build confidence, stimulate memory, and foster a sense of belonging.
The aim of this new space is simple: to create a homely, comforting environment where residents feel empowered to take part in the natural rhythms of everyday life. By focusing on familiar activities that spark recognition and joy, Maple Court continues its commitment to providing thoughtful, person-centred support for those living with dementia.
