Exciting Refurbishment Plans Unveiled for Cedar Lounge at Magnolia House

Residents and their relatives recently gathered at Magnolia House for an exciting announcement led by Manager Lindsay Altoft, who unveiled plans for the upcoming refurbishment of the Cedar Lounge.

The project will introduce a range of improvements designed to enhance both the look and functionality of the space. Planned upgrades include a newly surveyed and improved kitchen area, a modern media wall, updated furniture, new flooring, and a refreshed interior design. Together, these changes will create a more comfortable and contemporary environment for everyone to enjoy.

While the team is looking forward to these improvements, the refurbishment will require some temporary adjustments. As the saying goes, “you can’t bake a cake without breaking a few eggs,” and during the works, parts of the main Cedar lounge and dining room will be out of use.

To ensure residents continue to receive the highest level of care and comfort, alternative arrangements have been carefully planned. Meals will be served in the Lavender Lounge, and residents who prefer to dine in their rooms will continue to be fully supported. Additional areas within the home will also be adapted into temporary lounge spaces, ensuring there are still welcoming places to relax and socialise.

The refurbishment is expected to take approximately four weeks, although every effort will be made to complete the work sooner if possible. Throughout this time, the Magnolia House team is committed to maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere—continuing, as ever, to “carry on regardless.”

Manager Lindsay Altoft and the entire team are excited to see Magnolia House benefit from this transformation and would like to thank residents and their families in advance for their patience and understanding.

Anyone with questions or concerns about the refurbishment is warmly encouraged to contact Lindsay directly for more information.
